RAF Harrowbeer 1940s Weekend 2020
Coronavirus Update July 21st 2020
It is with great disappointment, that we have to announce that the 1940s Weekend 2020, is cancelled.
We have delayed calling this for as long as possible, in the hope that the lockdown rules would be relaxed enough for us to go ahead, but it just isn’t possible to safely have such a (potential) large gathering of people at our show. As a free-entry event, it is impossible for us to record visitor contact details, which would be required if anyone later proved to be Covid-19 positive.
We will now start to plan for next year when it will be the 80th Anniversary of the Airfield opening and we will launch a fund-raising appeal shortly. In the meantime, donations can be made via our ‘donations’ page
The RAF Harrowbeer 1940s Weekend is a free-entry for all to attend, but we do still need financial support. If you would like to make a donation to help us put on this popular event, then please visit the donations page. Thank you for your support.

In 2018, we challenged the Shops at Yelverton to go ‘All 1940s’ and dress their premises in a 1940s theme. We then awarded the best one with the ‘RAF Harrowbeer Memorial Trophy’ for the best dressed shop or business. The 2018 Winner was ‘The Game Larder’. We also awarded ‘Beau’ at Leg O’Mutton with a ‘Highly Commended’ award as although the shops there were not included in the original challenge, Beau, March Hair, Dartmoor Bakery and Rockin Bikes all had a go anyway, and we felt their efforts should be rewarded!
We hope to run this challenge again for the 2021 event.
Please keep checking this site for further information. Remember we are also on Facebook. Search for RAF Harrowbeer.
